PRESIDENTS NEWSLETTER   18th DECEMBER 2015

It has been a great month at William Light.

Australia is known as the ‘lucky country’ and as a great place to live. According to the just released United Nations ‘Human Development Index’ Australia is the second best place to live in the world behind Norway. Good luck to Norway but we think it’s too cold!

The UN index is based on life expectancy, quality of education (we have the highest proportion of students completing high school in the world) and standard of living. So independent experts and the data justify me saying that if you are thinking of studying in another country you can’t beat Australia, the beautiful city of Adelaide and our passionate teachers at The William Light Institute!!

It has been a great month at William Light. The highlights in a nutshell have been:

Graduation of our first Professional Year in IT students

Launch of our Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane campuses for the Professional Year
Successful start  of our Wound Resource Nurse course in Sri Lanka partnering with the International Institute of Health Sciences in Colombo
Commencement of marketing across Australia for our Graduate Certificate in Wound Management by our Australian partner the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Education Centre for a February 2016 commencement.
Signing up a new partner to develop some innovative allied health courses

Staff are also heavily engaged in the planning and design for a suite of new courses which we intend rolling out in 2016 as well as arranging for the delivery of our Wound Resource Nurse course in India.

All the best for a peaceful and productive 2016.

Kind regards

Greg Black
