Chair - Professor Sidney Morris

Prof Sid Morris is an Emeritus Professor of the University of Ballarat, an Adjunct Professor of La Trobe University.   He was foundation Dean of the Faculty of Informatics at the University of Wollongong. Prior to that he was Professor and Head of the Department of Mathematics, Statistics and Computing Science at the University of New England. He has also served as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President of the University of South Australia and Chair of the South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre.


Secretary of the Board - Dr Rhodora Abadia (nee Reyes), PhDCS

Dr. Rhoda Abadia is  currently the Academic Director for The William Light Institute and oversees all the programs offered by the Institute. She is also responsible for the academic co-ordination with the Federation University where she also is an adjunct faculty member and collaborates with research. She has 20 years of administrative, teaching, research experience in academe and industry in the field of IT. Prior to going to Australia, she was the Department Chair of the Software Technology Department at the De La Salle University, Philippines.  She also did a research work at the University of Michigan in America and some of her dissertation work at Deakin University in Australia.

Independent Academic Members - 

Ms Maritana Richards, FCA, MCom, FTIA, FCCA, FCA

A Chartered Accountant with a Masters in Commerce (Accounting). Maritana Richards has over 30 years experience in practice and have worked in two of the big ‘4’ professional accounting practice firms overseas and in one of the national practice firms in Australia. She is currently designing the curriculum and teaching on the Masters of Accounting and Bachelor of Business Programs at Kaplan Business School. 

Mr Chris Perera

A lecturer in accounting and finance at Deakin University and teaches in the professional program for the CPA.


Ms Denise Janek

Recently retired Managing Director of TAFESA Regional Institute. Ms Janek is a member of the Construction Industry Training and chairs our VET Quality and Stratege Committee which reports to the Academic Board.
